What you will be doing?
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join on a 6 month contract.
You will be required to support a rigorous and efficient Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, working closely with the IBP business partners, business functions, Regulation and Finance teams to translate strategy into robust business plans for AMP7 and AMP8.
This role will play a key part in challenging Thames Water’s overall performance position against our agreed business targets (control frameworks for opex, capex and outcomes), and analyse deltas between plan baselines
Key responsibilities will incorporate -
- Delivering a fully integrated and optimised corporate business plan – spend, performance and risks on an annual basis.
- Driving a ‘business-case’ mindset and perform critical review of business cases as part of cross-functional investment prioritisation
- Modelling critical planning assumptions and ensure they are used consistently across the organisation
- Building high quality supporting materials to present annual business plans to senior executives and Board
- Developing key relationships within the business (e.g. finance, delivery office / PMO, operational planning and asset management) and serve as best in class business partners
- Contributing to building a high performing Integrated Business Planning team
What you will bring to the role?
- High level of analytical ability and good project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Microsoft Office software proficiency (particularly EXCEL and PowerPoint), exposure to planning software (e.g. Anaplan) would be beneficial but not essential
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and must be able to work well in a cross-functional and virtual team environment
- An accounting qualification, or project management qualification is desirable but not essential
