About the role

We are currently recruiting a Business Support Assistant (known internally as a Business Improvement Assistant) to provide administrative support to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). As a Business Support Assistant, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks to make sure records are kept updated and organised and administrative operations run smoothly.

You will also have the opportunity to provide support for a wide variety of projects to deliver the organisation’s strategic outcomes and priorities.

As part of the Business Improvement team you will provide a varied administrative support service to the SSSC. This will involve a wide range of administrative tasks including:

  • supporting a variety of corporate projects to deliver the SSSC’s strategic outcomes and priorities
  • working with members of the team and other departments to develop and improve administrative and business procedures
  • record keeping and organising of information
  • preparation of statistical information in Excel
  • booking travel and accommodation
  • preparation and receipting of purchase orders
  • processing and filing information and correspondence
  • recording and distributing accurate minutes from meetings.

  • have excellent customer service skills
  • present information in a methodical and concise manner
  • have the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
