Responsibilities:
This position supports the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Deputy Commander, Total Force/Corporate Operations (SEA 10).
NAVSEA is the Department of Navy’s (DON’s) central activity for designing, engineering, integrating, building, and procuring U.S. Naval ships, shipboard weapons, and combat systems. NAVSEA's responsibilities also include the maintenance, repair, modernization, and conversion of in-service ships and their weapons and combat systems.
The candidate will provide analytical support to SEA 10D, Enterprise Civilian Human Resources. The Office of the Director, Civilian Human Resources (DCHR) serves as the principal HR advisor and final technical authority to COMNAVSEA and within the command on enterprise civilian human resources issues. Offices within the DCHR include Staffing Classification & Compensation, Enterprise Recruiting and Veterans & Wounded Warrior Programs, Command Awards Program and Injury Compensation Management, Enterprise Talent Management, Workforce/Leadership Development, and Enterprise Human Resources Data Analytics.
The candidate will support the full scope of HR Data Analytics, to include the ongoing execution of workforce planning and recruiting data analytics systems, in partnership with 10A staff, and the collection of HR and customer requirements to support development of HR tools and analytics.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Facilitate the collection of HR and customer requirements to support development of HR tools and analytics.
- Support the development of data analytic approaches, including return on investment measures, strategies, and performance indicators, dashboards, reports, and tools for Enterprise HR/HC initiatives.
- Bridge gaps between the HR and data analytic communities.
- Support the completion and distribution of HR data analytics in support of IG inspections, command goal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), enterprise recruiting, talent management, learning and development, and other SEA 10D/Enterprise HR programs.
- Facilitate the ongoing execution of workforce planning and recruiting data analytics systems, in partnership with SEA10A staff.
- Synthesize and analyze data.
- Make recommendations to information strategic and annual Enterprise Recruiting decisions, prioritizes and strategies.
- Collect, synthesize, and analyze a wide array of data inputs, including staffing planning inputs, predicted attrition analytics, return on investment data for events and other activities, diversity goals/gaps, career field competency needs assessments and related health assessments, university, affinity group, and industry trend data and other relevant data sets.
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics/data science preferred.
- A team-oriented outlook with outstanding customer service experience.
- Strong analytical skills along with discretion in performing specified work requirements.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively, to build and sustain working relationships with a vast team of diverse professionals.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications to include MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently and with sufficient knowledge, present projects to senior management.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment accepting emergent tasks with little to no supervision and/or direction.
