The team & role
ITV’s Studios Technology team supports the implementation and management of a number of software products and all technology related projects within the ITV Studios business.
One of our projects is focussed on Global Partnerships, our content sales and licensing business, who are responsible for the global exploitation of ITV’s Intellectual Property in our content (Finished Tape, Formats, Brand Licensing and other Ancillary income streams).
As part of enabling the business transformation of our Global Partnerships business we require an experienced Business Analyst to join our team to provide support in defining and delivering the desired business outcomes to be achieved through changes in business processes and the adoption of new and (re)configured solutions.
There are two areas of immediate business priority and focus:
- Salesforce consolidation - to bring together separate lines of business into a common Salesforce system streamlining and enhancing business processes, data capture / quality and providing enriched insights into our customer base and commercial exploitation of our content
- Exploitation Catalogue creation - to bring together Global Partnerships ‘catalogue’ of exploitable IP into one place with enriched metadata focussed on driving out and maximising revenues from our content
The responsibilities
- Understanding and documenting complex business processes and data flows through content lifecycle.
- Understanding, documenting, prioritising and communicating business requirements through analysis and facilitation of workshops with business stakeholders and vendors.
- Developing and translating user needs into detailed requirement specifications including acceptance criteria.
- Enhancing understanding of and documentation of the current landscape and identifying duplication, inefficiency and the potential for consolidation or improvement.
- Assessing and understanding process and system integrations and the potential for improved data exchange, process flows outlining possibilities and benefits.
- Supporting Vendor teams in creating collateral for Design, Implementation, Integration and Operations.
- Supporting the development/delivery of new functionality from specification through to delivery, ensuring test arrangements and test scripts are sufficient and suitable to ensure delivered functionality fulfils the user requirements and test criteria.
- Supporting rollout of new functionality into the business, including helping users understand changes to functionality and processes through show-and-tells, demonstration and end-user training.
- Capturing key business reporting and analytics requirements, identifying gaps in data, identifying gaps in business and technical capabilities, and prioritising where to focus development efforts.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Demonstrable experience working as a Business Analyst across a variety of software projects or products, (ideally in the media sector) through the full lifecycle of a project, from initiation to delivery and roll-out to end user communities.
- Demonstrable experience working as a Business Analyst in business- to-business sales.
- Ability to use/apply a range of techniques to elicit, document and communicate requirements, specifications, business processes and data flows with suppliers and stakeholders alike.
- Specific experience in developing and using Service Blueprints
- Experience in capturing user needs / user stories and converting these into detailed requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Experience in creating visual representations and insights into process / data across value & supply chains
- Experience in capturing reporting requirements and creating reporting catalogues
- Experience working with Salesforce design and delivery (though not hands on configuration)
- Experience working in Content Intellectual Property and Metadata management
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Understanding of modern Business Analysis techniques and methodologies.
- Self-starter, able to prioritise and manage tasks and deadlines across multiple projects concurrently.
- Able to grasp new concepts and business domains quickly.
- An ability to understand and simplify complex problems or processes.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, efficient manner, adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and the nature of the information.
- Ability to understand complex technical terms and proposals, and make these understandable to an audience with a range of experience and understanding.
- Able to present sound and well reasoned arguments to convince others of a proposed solution, while retaining empathy for the end user and their experiences.
- An understanding of modern methods of accessing and sharing data between software systems, including work with APIs and an understanding of terms like ‘middleware’ and ‘data mesh’ would be preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce would be beneficial.
- Experience in use of Miro.
- Experience in use of Google Suite.
- Experience in Service Design and Service Blueprinting as a technique would be beneficial.
