Job description
As Business Analyst you'll work as part of the Business Analyst team and will work for the Business Analysis Manager. The Business Analyst will play a central role in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology and may serve as a "translator" between those groups and various suppliers and third-party providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the business processes and systems.
- Work with stakeholders to establish how best to implement strategy using the existing systems– or identifying required change.
- Engage with key business stakeholders in line with an agreed structure and stakeholder management strategy to maintain awareness of strategic, tactical and operational change that may impact upon Technology & provides a conduit for business information to flow into the Technology team.
- Support the definition, documentation and continuous improvement of Halfords standard Business Analysis methodology.
- Apply a standard methodology to undertaking structured Business Analysis engagements, agree objectives with their stakeholders and plan their engagements accordingly.
- Have the ability and experience to employ various tools and techniques to complete engagements; including, but not exclusively, focus interviews, surveys, statistical analysis, work study, process analysis and re-design, Lean/Six Sigma techniques, system analysis, data flow analysis.
- Produce Define documentation as part of the new Ideas to Decision process
- Produce Halfords standard reports to fully document findings and recommendations and will be responsible for ensuring documented sign off of requirements and business processes by appropriate stakeholders.
- Produce and assist their stakeholders in the production of any required documentation; including, but not exclusively, Requirements Documents, Project Briefs, Investment Committee documentation and business cases, lessons learned reviews and Management Reports.
Key Skills/Experience
- Ability to engage with management level stakeholders and work collaboratively
- Basic business analysis skills and developing knowledge of analysis tools and techniques including Waterfall and Agile
- Understanding of the business and its drivers
- Developing Technology knowledge & technical awareness
- Understanding of integrated multi-channel retail
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Developing ability to illustrate complex concepts in an easy to understand way
- Developing consultancy skill set
- Awareness of Technology frameworks including PRINCE 2 and ITIL v3
- Awareness of operational risk management
- Developing financial acumen and commercial awareness with the ability to understand financial and accounting implications of decisions
- Problem solving and trouble shooting
- Decision making – the ability to make decisions individually and as part of a team
- Developing negotiating and influencing skills
Flexible work from home options available but some travel to our support centre in Redditch Worcestershire will be required at times.
