WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The Business Analyst is responsible for the delivery of high-quality specification and user stories for the enhancements, amendments and changes to the Insight Legal Practice Management Software. This award-winning software is used daily by thousands of lawyers.

The specifications will include the user experience interface wireframes/prototypes, business analysis, systems analysis and technical specification. The role will also be responsible for investigating and documenting reported bugs to ensure that the development team have a clear understanding of the issues.

The successful candidate will need to learn the existing software and customer requirements. The candidate will need to be able to question current assumptions and not be afraid to ask questions. The role will be critical to ensuring enhancements to the product match the customer requirements and delivery value.

Working closely with the Development Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate to be involved in multiple areas of the business and grow in a central role in a high performing development team.

You will have a wide and varied role, but your main responsibilities will include;

  • Creating detailed specifications and user stories, including prototypes and interactive wireframes, for enhancements and additions to the product, that are clear and able to be understood by a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Working with the support team to understand user issues and requirements
  • Working with the technical team to develop technical specifications
  • In conjunction with the support team, investigating and documenting reported bugs to clearly specify the issue for the technical team
  • Attending client meetings to understand requirements and or concerns

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED?

  • Have an analytical mindset, able to approach problems logically and work through a solution with consideration for the clients' needs and requirements.
  • Recent experience in a BA or UX role
  • Experience with prototyping or wireframing tools such as Adobe XD, Figma or Balsamic
  • Have a broad understanding of technical systems, able to pick up a new domain or a new technology quickly, using your imagination to turn your learning into something that a client or stakeholder can use.
  • Be a collaborator, able to value different perspectives and encourage dialogue in discussions and be able to dispute choices or results if they don’t meet requirements or expectation.
  • Have a good feel of usability
  • Show great attention to detail
  • Be able to communicate comfortably with technical and non-technical teams and clients, able to put forward your ideas and influence stakeholders to take them on board.
  • Able to lead and direct difficult conversations and come to resolution
  • Technical or development skills/experience highly advantageous
  • Able to work fulltime on-site from our Farnborough office
