About the role
This is a role in a growing team which is suitable for anyone looking to develop their financial acumen, business intelligence, strategy and problem solving skill sets. You will sit within the Strategy & Innovation team within the Advertising org in London and report to the Head of Strategy (Advertising), but will work with the Central Finance & Strategy team on a daily basis.
What you'll do
- Financial modeling: Lead the financial analysis and modeling (e.g. cash flow forecasts, pricing, deal models and budgeting) to drive decisions and establish the financial feasibility of the Advertising team's strategy, new products/propositions and business development opportunities (e.g. third-party partnerships with ad-tech providers)
- Business intelligence and reporting: Own the periodic reporting cycle for the Advertising business (with a central and local market view) including dashboarding, monthly/quarterly business reviews and ad-hoc insights and analysis
- Problem solving: Use imperfect data to problem solve, conduct 80/20 analysis and inform strategic and commercial decisions (e.g. opportunity sizing, root cause analysis)
- Process improvement: Drive cross-functional projects which improve business efficiencies and operational processes (e.g. improving financial oversights, pipeline tracking)
- Commercial strategy: Develop frameworks and establish financial and commercial guardrails to encourage adoption of products and enable sales teams
- Business development: Support discussions with strategic third party providers including outreach and deal structuring to support commercial negotiations. Note: the will be a limited part of the role initially, but there is scope for the right person to grow into this area
Requirements
- 2 or more years experience in a transaction or advisory environment (e.g. corporate finance or consulting) or a corporate development / strategic finance role
- Advanced financial modeling (e.g. budgeting, cash flow forecasts, deal modeling) using Google Sheets and data analysis skills (e.g. SQL or working with Looker, or similar software)
- Able to analyse financial and business data. Cut through the noise to make clear and actionable recommendations
- Able to create ideas, problem solve and drive growth and innovation, and flexible to trial new solutions at pace
- Effective relationship building, organisation and communication skills whether face to face, or through video, phone or email
- Stakeholder management of internal and external stakeholders (e.g. leadership team, local markets, finance, third parties) and able to lead projects end-to-end
