The team

Together with creators, producers, global networks and streamers, we’re behind the scenes of some of the greatest genres. Bringing thousands of hours of entertainment to everyone everywhere.

The role

ITV Technology and Global Partnerships are working together on a major programme of change, building out new systems and capabilities for Rights, Content Sales & Licensing, Royalties and Contract Lifecycle Management.

A key part of project and product team structures, the Business Analyst will be working with end users, stakeholders, architects and other analysts to assess, define and document current business processes and practices, highlighting issues and inefficiencies and identifying opportunities for improvement. Using this process understanding and a wide available dataset you will translate this into detailed development requirements, working with product and project management to define and prioritise these.

You will be joining us at the start of the journey, as we move from business case into detailed design and delivery, giving a real sense of ownership and accountability to the work that you do. You will work across the solution, making sure delivered functionality fits the needs of the users and business and delivers the opportunities previously outlined.

The role will entail but not be limited to:

  • Engaging directly with users and stakeholders across the company to understand and document complex business processes.
  • Providing business process and data flow analysis expertise to new and in-flight projects.
  • Understanding, documenting, prioritising and communicating business requirements, including hosting workshops and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating as a trusted partner with business, product, technology, and operational teams to identify, define, and prioritise opportunities aligned with departmental and company strategy.
  • Developing target operating models and translating these into detailed requirement specifications including acceptance criteria.
  • Analysing data models and data flow across multiple systems and business units, documenting the current data landscape and identifying duplication, inefficiency and the potential for consolidation or improvement.
  • Assessing and understanding software system interactions and the potential for improved data exchange, outlining possibilities and benefits.
  • Using a variety of techniques to validate your discoveries and understanding and replaying this to different stakeholder groups.
  • Managing the development of new functionality from specification through to delivery, ensuring test arrangements and test scripts are sufficient and suitable to ensure delivered functionality fulfils the user requirements and test criteria.
  • Supporting rollout of new functionality into the business, including helping users understand changes to functionality and processes through show-and-tells, demonstration and end-user training.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Demonstrable experience working as a Business Analyst across a variety of software projects or products, ideally in the entertainment or media sectors.
  • Understanding of a range of techniques to elicit, document and communicate requirements, specifications, business processes and data models and communicate these with suppliers and stakeholders alike.
  • Experience drafting requirements and acceptance criteria, and being accountable for their successful delivery throughout the full lifecycle of a project, from initiation to delivery and roll-out to end user communities.
  • Ability to understand complex technical terms and proposals, and make these understandable to an audience with a range of experience and understanding.
  • Able to present sound and well reasoned arguments to convince others of a proposed solution, while retaining empathy for the end user and their experiences.
  • An understanding of modern methods of accessing and sharing data between software systems, including work with APIs and an understanding of terms like ‘middleware’ and ‘data mesh’ would be preferred.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Clear understanding of the role of a Business Analyst, both in a project and a product domain, including techniques and methodologies.
  • An ability to understand and simplify complex problems or processes.
  • Some experience with HR or finance systems would be beneficial.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence
  • Problem solver, methodical and details oriented
