THE ROLE
Due to our continued growth, we are now looking for a Van Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our team based in Manchester. Working full time, 40 hours per week, the role will see you working predominately Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. This role would be suited to someone who does not mind early starts as your working day will generally start at 6:00am and finish at approximately 2.30pm and it is important that you have a flexible approach to overtime.
As a Van Driver / Warehouse Operative, you will be based at our Manchester (M28) Regional Centre where you will be supporting the team in both warehouse duties and delivery of our products. You will therefore need to have a current and valid driving licence - minimum Class B
Duties include:
- Prepare, pick and scanning customer orders within the warehouse ready for dispatch or collection
- Deliver Hammonds products to our Installer’s lock ups, customer homes, building sites and retailers.
- Load, unload, prepare and inspect assigned vehicle daily using the driver de-brief and vehicle check sheet
- Cleaning and fuelling of assigned vehicle
- Safe handling of furniture in line with good Health & Safety manual handling practice
- Checking deliveries against paperwork and administration of paperwork
ABOUT YOU
The successful Van Driver / Warehouse Operative will have the ability to multi-task and thrives in a fast-paced business environment. A transport background would be very useful, however not essential. You will have the following skills and requirements:
- Experience as a Van Driver / Delivery Driver with current valid driving licence - minimum Class B
- Flexible work approach

- Communication skills at all levels
