Role description:
We are looking for an experienced MEP Engineer with experience in Carbon Consultancy who has a real passion for implementing practical change and innovative transformation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Building Physicist to join our growing team working within our Lenders, Investors & Insurers business, as we widen the skills to remain at the forefront of our industry.
The role will provide hands on experience in shaping the thinking of our industry leading investor clients, working with them to evaluate and improve the carbon and ESG performance of their real estate assets, alongside also growing and defining the Arcadis business at the exciting point of time through the creation of new propositions and services.
ESG and carbon consultancy is fast-moving and one of the key growth areas within Arcadis and offers considerable career development potential.
Role accountabilities:
- Liaison with clients to understand their specific requirements
- Undertake energy and carbon modelling of existing buildings and buildings in design and identify carbon reduction and net zero plans
- Application of existing and emerging energy and carbon rating methodologies e.g. Energy Performance Certificates, CRREM and NABERS
- Application of whole life carbon assessment for Residential and Commercial assets
- Lead / facilitate workshops and meetings to support carbon reduction in real estate assets
- Analysis and report writing
- Assist or lead on business development activities including client presentations and preparation of bids
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in working on a range of carbon and climate change projects
- Previous real estate experience and ideally with investor clients
- Understanding of carbon related regulation and other market drivers and experience in energy and/or carbon modelling of buildings such as IES and OneClick LCA [desirable]
- Non-Domestic Energy Assessor [desirable]
- Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, Building Physics or suitable alternative qualification
- Good motivation, influencing and people management skills
- Confident with Excel, strong report writing and project management skills
- Experience of interacting with clients and involvement with business development including the development of business cases, define scopes, plan, and delivery of energy projects
- Chartered membership of an appropriate Professional body [desirable]
