IMG Studios is a premier production centre with state-of-the art studios, post-production and live operations facilities. It houses 4 broadcast television studios, 50+ production galleries, 3 dubbing suites, 50 edit destinations, 3 radio studios, UHD Grading and QC capabilities, an award-winning 3D Graphics & Visual Effects team, and one of the largest data centres built specifically for digital media and broadcast in recent times.
The Master Control Room includes 5 transmission suites and monitors over 200 HD lines in & out of the building. With its own satellite farm and direct links to many of the leading sports stadia in the UK, IMG Studios is at the centre of sports and entertainment production and distribution.
What You’ll Do:
IMG are seeking a hard-working, enthusiastic Broadcast Engineer to join our broadcast engineering team supporting the technical facilities at Stockley Park. You will be instrumental in maintaining high standards and offering the best possible service to our clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure the operation of our diverse range of broadcast systems within all areas of IMG Studios including live studios, post production and transmission.
You will be responsible for liaising directly with the client and our IMG family, assuming ownership of issues through to resolution, carrying out the diagnosis and solving all technical problems, escalating to the lead engineer or other senior members of the team in order to achieve this.
You will have a keen interest in emerging technologies, and ready to help with in-house broadcast projects and installation work, as well as finding alternative technical solutions for the ever changing environment.
This position is shift based and will include weekend work/12 hour days.
All of this is subject to change due to business needs as always.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
To provide proactive support and maintenance services for very busy live studios and post production facilities.
Supporting the Lead Engineer in helping provide fast and effective solutions to issues that may arise in a live studio transmission.
Supporting producers and clients in IMG Studios post production suites and facilities.
Working as part of a dynamic engineering team towards engineering developments and special projects within IMG Studios.
You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.
Maintaining all paperwork required to make sure the department runs efficiently.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
Previous operational experience as a TV Facilities Engineer with knowledge and firm understanding of studio and post production equipment and workflow systems.
Strong understanding/knowledge of IT.
At least one specialist engineering skill in one area of IMG Studios technical operations.
Excellent and thorough knowledge of TV production process.
Demonstrated established relationships with clients at all levels.
