A relaxed UHNW family of 4 are looking to appoint a child and pet-friendly Head Housekeeper with a positive approach to seamlessly join the collaborative Estate team. A can-do attitude and leading by example are essential requirements for this wonderful hands-on role where you will be responsible for managing the interior of this 14-bedroom weekend/holiday home. No childcare or cooking will be expected as a full-time Nanny and Chef are employed.
The ideal candidate will have exceptionally high standards, previous yachting experience and a good eye for detail, as well as extensive housekeeping and laundry knowledge, including caring for delicates. You will be confident and experienced working with antiques and fine finishes, as well as being comfortable with front-of-house duties and table service.
Working 5 days per week (to include weekends) you will have 2 consecutive days off in the week, but flexibility in your working hours will be required to accommodate split shifts and longer days when the family are in residence. It is important to note during the Summer of 2024 this will become the principal’s main residence.
Accommodation will be provided in a modern two-bedroom cottage with a small private garden within the grounds, separate from the main house (basic utilities included). Due to the location of the house, someone who loves the countryside and is comfortable around animals and country pursuits are essential. Partners and pets are welcome to live here as well, however, it is important to note that there is the potential for this to become a couple’s position please apply within for more information regarding this.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· All housekeeping duties to include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing beds, cleaning bathrooms and living/dining areas
· Front-of-house and table service for both formal and informal weekends and events
· Liaising with the Estate Office, Chef, Head Gardner, and Maintenance man, to plan the day, weekends, and events
· Recruitment of household staff and training, managing rotas and holiday requests
· Writing and implementing deep cleaning and maintenance schedules
· Keeping the house bible up to date
· Purchasing and management of household stock
· Care of contractors whilst on site
· Estate security in rotation with other live-in staff
· Pet care when the family are away
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Prior housekeeping experience on a super yacht (ideally)
· Fluency in spoken English
· Positive, professional can-do attitude
· Exacting standards and a good eye for detail
· Full, clean driving license and your own car
· Non-smoker
· Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check
· Excellent checkable references
