Job description
Role Category - the way you'll work:
This role is categorised as an operative role. This means that you are likely to move around from site-to-site or property-to property more often, depending on the work needed to be done. You won’t necessarily have a permanent work base as you’ll probably be able to travel from home to your site. You’ll be advised about your work location where needed.
The Role:We’re looking for a Bricklayer to join our Void team on a permanent basis.
Thirteen seeks to employ people who share our ambition to think and work differently. This means sourcing those passionate individuals who ensure that every relationship matters, are reliable, energetic and adaptable in their approach and can work progressively in a high performing, commercially minded environment.
We want to provide the best service to our customers, so we have implemented the ‘TradePlus’ scheme. A ‘TradePlus’ colleague is one who is trained in a number of supplementary skills, in varying trades, in addition to your base trade.
A multi-skilled workforce allows our services to be as efficient as possible, by increasing the availability of appointments, reducing waiting times, ensuring jobs are completed on first visit and thereby increasing the productivity and efficiency of our services. All of which is aimed at ensuring we enhance our customer’s experience at the same time as ensuring value for money.
In addition to holding the required skills linked to your base trade, you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability and/or willingness to undertake all additional skills required of a TradePlus operative. In return, we’ll provide you with TradePlus training.
The Person:
As a Bricklayer, you must be time served or have relevant experience in the appropriate trade and be educated to NVQ level 2 or equivalent in the relevant trade qualification. A full clean driving licence is also essential.
You must have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, verbally, electronically and face to face. It’s also essential that you are experienced in the safe use of plant, equipment, PPE and can demonstrate the relevant appreciation of health and safety and waste management legislation.
If you’re a motivated individual who can bring your knowledge to the team, is able to work collaboratively to ensure that the team is seen as an innovative and a forward-thinking business stream, and contributes to achieving high performance, then we would be interested in hearing from you.
The future is exciting, and we only want the best to be part of it.At Thirteen we're about homes and so much more.....
At Thirteen, we’re more than just a landlord. We believe everyone is an individual. That’s why we don’t just provide properties; we offer a home to suit each person’s needs.
And we’re not just about somewhere to live; our range of extra services means we can give people a helping hand specifically tailored to them if they need it.
Our strength, capacity and ambition to deliver what our customers need means we can change things for the better.
We’re the largest housing association in the North East and among the biggest 25 nationally. Today we own and manage 34,000 properties in the North East and Yorkshire region, 30,000 of them in the Tees Valley. Thirteen is still an organisation that’s local at its heart - and although our work is largely in the Tees Valley, we welcome applications from further afield because our ways of working mean we can often be flexible about where our colleagues are based.
Our skilled colleagues and board directors work tirelessly to support 70,000 tenants and customers, bringing a breadth of experience and a can-do attitude to ensure a high-quality customer experience. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds to join our committed team.
So come and be part of making a difference. Great days for everyone are made at Thirteen.
Are you up for the challenge of bringing our vision to life and having great days at work?
