Established in 2004, Get Active continues to grow and excel in the delivery of high-quality PPA Cover, PE Tuition, Staff CPD, Extra Curricular Clubs, Active Care, Holiday Camps, Football Development, Apprenticeships, Fetes & Fundraising events and Parties to schools, parents & children across Berkshire and beyond.
Providing exciting and engaging activities to more than 10,000 School Children weekly we have a number of part-time vacancies available for qualified and experienced playworkers to join their dedicated teams throughout the Berkshire area, delivering sessions before and after school.
The main purpose of the Playworker role is to provide a caring, engaging and secure environment for children between the ages of 4 and 11 through individual attention and group activities by organising an appropriate range of leisure activities. Playworkers need to be organised and enthusiastic with the ability to communicate and interact with both children and parents maintaining an approachable aura. With a professional childcare qualification and experience in a similar role, the successful Playworker would ideally have a relevant qualification and a up to date DBS Certificate. Food hygiene and first aid certificate would be the desired attribute of any applicant but all of the above Get Active can provide.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties and Responsibilities of the Playworker
· Provide safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities.
· Ensure that all activities are carried out within an equal opportunity’s framework.
· Undertake any necessary training including a nationally recognised play work foundation course.
· Encourage community-wide participation and activity planning and delivery.
· Develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents to facilitate day-to-day caring needs
· Encourage parental involvement and support through the development of effective working relationships
· Consult with the children and involve them in the planning of activities
· Ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner
· Ensure that food provision is carried out within the guidelines of the food safety act 1990
· Help the coordinator to ensure that a wide range of creative and enjoyable activities are offered
· Ensure that play meets the full range of children's individual and group needs
· Support the day to day running of the Breakfast and after-school club
· Engage with children and tend to their needs
· Provide activities for the children

Alongside this, they will be assigned a mentor who will give regular feedback to again make sure the candidate has settled in the company.

Self Employed/Part Time
Level 2 Childcare Qualification Desirable
After School Club- £24-£33 per session (3pm-6pm Monday to Friday)
Breakfast Club - £12-£20 per session (7.45am-8.45am Monday to Friday)
*Pay is dependant on age, Experience and Qualifications*
*Holiday work available for an hourly rate*

Salary: £7.00-£11.00 per hour
