Job description
Are you looking for some practical experience to further your knowledge of brain injury? If so, this role will be perfect for you!
We are looking for talented rehabilitation assistants to provide support to our clients who have experienced a traumatic brain injury. Our clients do not require any personal care, our focus is on the retraining and relearning of skills lost due to their injury. We maximise independence through increasing functional skills.
The role
We are looking to add talented individuals to our expanding team in and around Birmingham.
We have a wide selection of hours available for this package, as well as other clients in the area. There are a wide variety of hours with excellent rates of pay, which is enhanced after 8pm and at weekends. Travel time is also paid and mileage.
This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and an innate ability to think quickly on your feet and engage individuals in their rehabilitation programs.
You will be required to perform a variety of cognitive rehabilitation tasks and program delivery in and around the client’s home and community in this varied role. Every day and every client is different, and you will gain experience in a variety of fields, working alongside external professionals. Everything we do is a cognitive task, and it is the role of the RA to break these sequences down and teach clients how to increase their function after a brain injury.
Vocational, leisure and community pursuits identified by the client are to be supported and motivated. There are opportunities to engage in a variety of activities, meaning there is never a dull day!
You will also have the opportunity to work with other professionals in the neuro rehabilitation field, including SLTs, Neuro-Psychologists, Solicitors, Occupational Therapists and specialised allied professionals.
You will receive extensive training, close mentoring and supervision, the opportunity to engage in company events and company development projects.
