We are now looking for experienced Assistants to join our busy Box Office team, handling enquiries, sales and services including, but not limited to, ticket sales, performance details, catering options, technical and subscription support for ROH Stream (our streaming content platform) memberships and general information, across a series of channels that include onsite face-to-face counter service, telephone, email, live chat, WhatsApp, Facebook and others that may emerge in time.
This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your customer service and sales skills to one of the world`s busiest theatres. We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following:
Commitment to and proven experience of providing excellent customer service- Experience of sales and confidence in suggesting additional options and benefits to customers
- Good numeracy and computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, databases and point of sales software and willing to learn new technologies
- Excellent communication skills via all forms, including telephone, written, online and face to face
- Experience of making sales using chip and pin devices and able to accurately reconcile
Knowledge of opera, ballet and music is desirable but not a requirement, but an interest and commitment to developing and promoting relevant product knowledge is essential.
You would work three shifts per week on a flexible pattern, with each shift lasting at least 4 hours (sometimes longer). There is the possibility of working additional shifts in busy periods. Availability must include a mix of daytimes, evenings, and weekends. Further details of the availability requirements will be provided if you are invited to attend an assessment centre. Work is predominantly onsite at the Royal Opera House, in Covent Garden, although there may be opportunities to work from home occasionally depending on operational requirement. No time off can be guaranteed over holiday periods.
You must be available to attend an assessment centre in person at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, on the following date:
Thursday 23rd February at 1pm till 5.30pm (no alternatives can be offered)
In your first 2 weeks 13-26 March, you must be available for 18 hours of training each week (6 hours per day x 3 days between Monday and Saturday, 09:45-18:15). Provisional dates/times will be advised ahead of your assessment centre. Later start dates may be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
