Boeing Defence UK is seeking an administrator at Boscombe Down. This is an exciting role, initially helping to setup a new facility for Boeing testing of the Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control aircraft, a Boeing 737 derivative. In steady-state, the successful candidate will provide administrative support to the myriad of teams onsite, who originate from the UK, the US and Australia.
The role will also provide direct support to the Boeing Test & Evaluation team, who work on a wide range of aircraft, including Apache, Chinook, Wedgetail, C-17 Globemaster and autonomous systems (air and maritime).
This is a key role, facilitating the efficient execution of flight test by multiple teams inside and outside of Boeing. The role requires an individual with good interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate and sequence work requirements, controlling a demanding workload, whilst delivering to a high standard.
Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Boeing Site Leader:
- Provide administrative support to the teams onsite, including ensuring an efficient working environment, sharing site-wide communications, facilitating visit requests and coordinating catering requirements.
- Coordinating site inductions, briefings for visitors, new-employees and contractors, escorting people when required.
- Support the setup of the new Boeing Wedgetail Test Facility.
- Procurement, tracking and issue of goods and services to support the team.
- Logging, tracking and seeking resolution of facility issues.
- Tracking and coordinating updates to site documents.
- Managing stock levels of personal protective equipment, stationery, and consumables.
- Managing pool cars, conference rooms and communal areas.
Reporting to the Boeing Test & Evaluation Team Leader:
- On a weekly basis, collate team data from various online sources and from engaging with team members, packaging it up for distribution and leadership consideration.
- Work with team leads to coordinate periodic updates to organisational tools and documents, such as team schedules, org charts, distribution lists, etc.
- Manage inventory of high-value items, flying clothing, and team-specific tools.
- Coordinate on-boarding activities for new team members, support senior leaders’ calendars and coordinate administrative elements of visits.
- Conduct crucial tasks against a checklist, crafted to ensure 100% compliance to regulatory requirements.
Preferred Skills, Education and Experience:
- Excellent IT user skills, especially on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Be able to quickly learn tailored tools, such as Centrik.
- The ability to integrate well into a diverse team, operating across multiple UK sites and overseas.
- Excellent time management skills, being able to identify priorities and willing to seek leadership input when required.
- A desire to support the team, through your efforts the whole team onsite will be more efficient. Together, we’ll deliver real capability to the Army, Navy and Air Force.
