Bookkeeper / Finance Officer (Part-time)
Location: Witney, Oxfordshire (On-site; remote)
FTE £35,000 pro rata
2 days per week (may increase at busy periods) – flexible working hours

working in a beautiful location in Witney? Whilst we would like you to be part of our on-
site team, there is the flexibility to work from home, and this role could also suit
someone wishing to add this to their self-employed portfolio rather than joining as an
employee.
Cogges HeritageTrust, is charity which cares for and runs Cogges Manor Farm, a
unique historic site in Witney, West Oxfordshire. The charity’s purpose is to preserve,
protect, develop and improve the archaeological, historical, architectural and
environmental heritage of the site of Cogges Manor Farm and associated land for the
benefit of the people of the County of Oxfordshire and the wider members of the public.
Key tasks
- Administering and inputting into the accounting system all financial income and expenditure transactions (currently using QuickBooks).
- To administer all payroll functions, for our staff team (12 permanent employees, with additional seasonal staff)
- Completion of quarterly VAT returns
- Assisting the General Manager in the preparation and management of budgetsand the reporting of financial performance to the Trustee Board andCommittees. Supporting the General Manager in re-forecasting as required.
- Production of monthly management information and guiding other staff acrossthe organisation to manage budgets and to follow financial procedures andcontrols.
- Assisting the General Manager in the preparation and submission of financialreports to funding bodies in order to claim approved grants. Producing reports as and when required for project expenditure and ensuring availability of documents required for grant returns.
- Assisting the General Manager and Treasurer in the preparation of accounts and records for the purposes of an annual examination.
Skills & Experience
- Processing and management of end-to-end accounting processes in a similar size organisation.
- Experience in accounting for VAT and compiling returns
- The administration of payroll systems for business of similar size.
- Experience in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Generating and updating ongoing cash-flow forecasts during a financial year.
- Working knowledge and experience of the QuickBooks software platform.
- Income processing systems such as Paypal.
- Experience of the calculation and claiming of Gift Aid.
