This is a great opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to work in a standalone role and manage the day to day financial activities across an international remit.
Vendula London launched in 2003 and has since become one of the fastest growing iconic fashion accessories brands in the UK, designing and selling quirky, original and vintage inspired handbags, purses and lifestyle products, to key markets in Europe and the larger global markets in the USA and Asia.
As we continue to expand our operations internationally, you will be able to fully utilise your proven bookkeeping skills and knowledge and take responsibility for the following.
Responsibilities
- Accurately maintain financial records including accounts payable, receivable, general ledgers entries
- Bank reconciliations on three currency bank accounts – USD, GBP and Euro
- Monthly IOSS reporting
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT Return
- Monthly Management Account and Cash Flow
- Credit Card Receipts reconciliation
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and compliance purposes
- Liaising with auditors, bank manager and external parties responding to financial information requested
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities and overseeing divisional finances (Wholesale, Retail, Concession and Online) including setting divisional targets, KPIs and measuring performance
- Other accounting related admin tasks as required
About You
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a retail environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience in handling foreign exchange transactions and managing currency risks
- AAT qualified or part ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Experience of VAT preparation and submission
- Demonstrable experience of handling monthly management account and cash flow
- Experience of bank reconciliation in GBP, EURO and USD
- Experience of Odoo Enterprise ERP system
- Fluent (written and spoken) in English
- High level of attention to detail
- Highly organised and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise and work with minimum supervision
- You must currently live and be eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions
