Job description
Avaliable Job Today United Gulf a prominent Nova Scotia developer with a wide range of projects incorporating progressive ideas from mixed-use master-planned communities to urban revitalization projects and multi-unit residential complexes is actively seeking a full-time in-house bookkeeper for our affiliated construction companies.
The position will be the primary bookkeeping role for the day-to-day and periodic tasks of the company, working under the direction and supervision of the Senior Accountant.
Only qualified applicants with Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status will be considered.
Qualifications and Experience
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience related to:
o AP, AR, Payroll, HST, Remittances and other regular routines
o Bank and GL account reconciliations
· Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online, Sage and Microsoft Excel
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
· A self-starter, able to work independently and with minimal supervision
· Familiarity with the general principles of accounting
· Canadian construction industry bookkeeping
· Produce work with a high level of accuracy
Roles and Responsibilities
· Tracking and managing financial data,
· Entering financial transactions into various databases,
· Fact-checking accounting information
· Balancing and reconciling accounts
· Support the preparation of financial reports
· Establish and maintain charts of accounts
· Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
· Update and maintain the general ledger
· Recording of debits and credits
- Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions
