SOMERSET COUNTY FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

Responsibilities:

• Processing payments invoices and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing hard copies.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Complete quarterly VAT payment in line with charity rules.
• Verify the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the County Treasurer and the accountant of any errors in writing
• Recording any inconsistencies to help the accountant reconcile inaccuracies.
• Work with the company accountant with administrative duties and preparing the annual accounts.
• Work with the County Treasurer to provide monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss, balance sheet and trial balance to the Board at their monthly meeting.

• Checking vendor invoices and pass to the County Treasurer for payment.

Requirements:

• Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in the fields of accounting or finance.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Experience with spreadsheets and accounting software applications.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 6 per week

Salary: £12.00-£14.00 per hour

• Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
• bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
