Job description
Nortown Foods is a family owned and operated specialty food business that was established in 1960. The bookkeeper is responsible for the three retail locations in the GTA.
- The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience as a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant.
- Responsible for full cycle company accounting: A/R, A/P and Order entry/Verification: preparing all payments, balancing accounts, allocating costs, collection, bank reconciliation, payroll, deductions, trial balances, etc.
- Prepare and file EHT, WSIB, Payroll and HST
- Prepare monthly trial balances.
- Preparing year-end documentation for external accountants
- Manage, input, and prepare payroll with the external payroll company and manage the ROE/T4/Termination/Severance issues related to payroll and HR process.
- Work with external accounting firm in their preparation of financial statements and income tax submissions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
- Safeguard company by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Fully experienced using QuickBooks, strong communication skills, proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft office. Familiar with ADP payroll and other timecard applications.
- Consolidate purchases and ordering for stores from a limited number of vendors.
- Support accounting staff in accounting and financial matters.
- Various office support functions.
- This individual should be flexible, be able to manage multiple and competing tasks. They should be a self -starter, efficient, and proactive
- Should possess strong attention to detail and take accountability over their work.
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 32 per week
Salary: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
