The permanent full-time Bookkeeper position is based out of our office in Niagara Falls, Ontario and reports to the Operations Manager and the CEO. The successful candidate is extremely detailed-oriented while performing all bookkeeping and administrative tasks. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to act as an office assistant which involves aiding other departments such as Case Management (CM); Operation Management; and Business Development (BD). The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Full cycle accounting duties using QuickBooks Pro Canada and US
- Maintain accurate general ledger and financial statements
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable – including invoice preparation
- Preparation of payroll
- Bank and accounts reconciliation
- Experience with multicurrency and US reporting considered an asset
- Maintain compliance and preparation of government remittances – payroll, HST, corporate taxes
- Adhering to LISKE-trained standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all matters
- Act as the first point of contact for the customer and LISKE Expert on all LISKE files
- Communicate professionally via phone and email while maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Scheduling & tracking examinations, telecoms & meetings between LISKE Team Experts and customers
- Receiving file material and indexing and tracking it for the LISKE Team Expert
- Responding to new file inquiries and opening files in the office
- Document review and editing (spelling, grammar, etc.)
- General BO assistance to all departments, Case Management (CM); Operations Management (OM); and Business Development (BD)
- Additional tasks as required
A summary of qualifications for the ideal candidates are as follows:
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related discipline
- Advanced MS Excel skills – including pivots, macros, and advanced formulas for analysis
- Strong proficiency QuickBooks Pro
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
Additional information
- Expected to work onsite at the Niagara Falls office
- Starting compensation range of $25-$30/hr.
- A flexible benefit plan upon completion of probationary period
