Responsibilities:
- Maintaining full cycle bookkeeping including recording all transactions, posting journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, GST/HST reporting, payroll processing including all payroll tax filings and reports, preparation of T4’s, WorkSafe reporting, preparing cheques, etc.
- Communications with clients, employees and other stakeholders to answer questions and direct communications to the appropriate party
- General Administrative duties such as answering phones, filing, scanning documents, drafting letters and other office admin duties are required
The successful candidate:
- has 3+ years of related bookkeeping experience and possesses knowledge of accounting principals including knowledge of payroll, GST/HST returns, WorkSafe remittances and Source Deductions
- high attention to detail and accuracy
- has time management & task prioritization skills including the ability to manage multiple deadlines, determine priority and get tasks completed
- is organized, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
- is proficient with accounting programs such as Sage 50, Microsoft Office and Excel and can learn additional software programs
- is great with people and has excellent customer service skills
- has self-confidence and maturity
Experience:
- Bookkeeping: 3 years (Required)
- Accounting: 2 years (Preferred)
- Sage 50: 2 years (Preferred)
Language:
- English (Required)
