Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with bookkeeping software, and strong organizational skills. The Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Responsibilities:
General Bookkeeping:Maintain and update financial records, including recording financial transactions, journal entries, and general ledger entries.
Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements with the general ledger.
Perform regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:Process and record accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense claims, and payments.
Monitor accounts receivable, generate customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of periodic accounts payable/receivable reports.
Payroll Processing:Calculate and record employee wages, deductions, and benefits accurately.
Process payroll payments and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Reconcile payroll transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
Maintain accurate payroll records and files.
Assist with payroll tax calculations and reporting.
Financial Administration:Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records and transactions.
Assist in the preparation of financial documents for audits and tax filings.
Support the finance team in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
Financial Systems and Software:Utilize bookkeeping software and systems to record transactions and maintain financial records.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in the bookkeeping software.
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues.
Provide training and support to end-users on bookkeeping software.
Ad-Hoc Tasks and Support:Assist in special financial projects or initiatives as assigned by the finance team.
Support the finance team in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Collaborate with other departments to gather and provide financial information as required.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree or certification in bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software and MS Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recording financial information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.

Salary: £19,708.29-£37,045.52 per year
