Job description – BookKeeper / Administrator

As part of our on-going growth, we are now looking to expand our team and have a new vacancy for a BookKeeper/Administrator.
Reporting to daily the Finanacial Director at our HQ in Blackburn, your role will be key to maintain accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing essential financial support to the company. Your attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and proficiency in bookkeeping software will be vital to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately record and maintain financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly and efficiently
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with the company's accountant.
- Monitor and manage petty cash and expense claims.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in the company's accounting software.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and legislation.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of tax regulations and familiarity with VAT returns (desirable).
- Professional certification in bookkeeping (desirable but not essential)
Salary:
£12.50 - £13.30 per hour dependant on experience
Hours of work:
Part-time role of approx. 20-30h per week. This is a Monday – Friday office based role, start and finish times can be discussed at interview.
