Job description
We are looking for a Board Member to fill a vacant post due to a Board Member standing down at the AGM in September having completed their full term on the Board.
Social housing is dealing with the biggest changes to the way it operates in a generation. The Board is at the forefront of addressing those challenges. Leeds Fed has a clear social purpose, to help people find an affordable home to own or rent where they are not able to afford to do so on the open market. Our vision, ‘Building Futures Together’ is supported by our values of Passion, Honesty, Excellence and Innovation and our strategies of Sustain, Engage and Grow. We want people who are passionate about making a difference and are able to embrace our vision of ‘Building futures together’ with tenants, partners and stakeholders.
The particular skills and experience we require at this time are around setting strategy, business planning and the operating environment. As a Board member you will contribute at a strategic level across all aspects of the business. There will be opportunities for you to learn about new areas of work, to develop new skills and be part of a team which is passionate about the communities it serves.
The Board currently meets both virtually and in person meets approximately 7 times a year including additional Operations, Audit & Risk, and Governance & Remuneration committee meetings. Your expected contribution will be approximately 15 days per annum.
If you wish to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact our Chief Executive Matthew Walker on 0113 3861012 or our Company Secretary Megan Henderson on 0113 3861100.
Closing date for applications is noon on Friday 5th May 2023. Interviews are anticipated to take place Tuesday 16th May.
There are Board meetings on 6th June and 18th July and the successful applicant will be invited to attend these meetings as an observer prior to being appointed to the Board at the Annual General Meeting in September.
