An opportunity has arisen for a Blue Star Porter to provide guidance, information and assistance to customers and to meet the needs of our customers with who may need additional support.
Duties include:
- Providing information and assistance to customers in a polite and courteous manner.
- Providing assistance to customers, including those with disabilities, those who are elderly, or those with heavy or awkward luggage either from pre-booked arrangements or ‘as required’.
- Ensuring an adequate supply of self-help trolleys is maintained in authorised areas and return abandoned trolleys and ramps to authorised areas.
- Anticipating customer requirements and being mobile around key locations on platforms.
About you:
To fulfil this highly responsible role, you’ll need:
- A proactive approach to offering help and support to those who may need it
- To be conscientious and hard working and be a positive role model for Northern
- The ability to operate simple radio systems and electrical appliances or be willing to learn
- Able to work shift patterns including evening, nights and weekend work
