Job Title: Blending Shed Operative
Work Location: Jubilee Mill, Murton, York, YO19 5UT
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, working 5 eight hour shifts across 7 days allocated by business need. Will include some work on weekends / Bank Holidays.
Job type: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract, 6 Months (initially)

About the role
We are looking for a communicative, passionate and determined Blending Shed Operative to join our team at Thompsons.
In this role you will be responsible for the safe operation of site functions in the blending shed, and vehicle loading and unloading of raw materials and feeds to meet the businesses needs.
We are looking for someone with high standards, who can remain accurate while working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferably applicants with previous experience within this line of work and or and interest or background in agriculture would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Adherence to safe working practices and Health and Safety instructions.
- Accepting deliveries, safely unloading, and correctly storing raw materials and other goods.
- Safe loading of raw materials in both Poultry and Ruminant blenders in line with planned schedule.
- Weighing up of prescription drugs and mineral additives.
- Loading products onto company vehicles for delivery and customers own vehicles if collecting.
- High standards of housekeeping.
- A point of contact and liaise with key staff within the transport, production and planning departments, ensuring operations run smoothly.
