Job Title: Bioveterinary Scientist
Salary: Dependant on experience
Location: Leamington Spa
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per weekincluding Saturday rota

Antech Diagnostics are looking for Bioveterinary Scientists to join our brand new veterinary diagnostics laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business who have been around for over 30 years!

The laboratory is opening in early Autumn and we are looking for Bioveterinary Scientists across Microbiology, Mycology, Haematology and Chemistry disciplines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up, reading and resulting assigned cultures using approved protocols.
  • Performing all work under strict quality control and per QA guidelines.
  • Carry out routine equipment QC and maintenance.
  • Read, understand and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in all departmental training to ensure ongoing technical competency.
  • Assist the Lead Technician in managing the inventory.
  • Comply with laboratory Health and Safety procedures.
  • Ensure work area is clean and organised, and adequately stocked.

Experience and skill set required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a Science related field
  • A minimum of 1-year clinical laboratory experience which must include specimen receipt and processing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Organised with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high throughput environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good customer service and reasoning skills
  • Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to meet the demands of the business
