Who We Are:
AstraZeneca’s Bio-Pharmaceutical Development (BPD) department consists of scientists, engineers, mathematicians and project managers whose ambition is to transform biologic molecules into life-changing medicines.
Through this Rotational Associates Programme you’ll gain experience in the development of manufacturing processes and dosage forms for Bio-Pharmaceutical products – everything from molecule discovery to packaging the final product.
Programme participants work on challenging technical projects supporting the development of protein therapeutics in the areas of Cell Culture and Fermentation, Purification, Analytics and Protein Characterization, Formulation, Delivery Devices, Clinical Logistics and Manufacturing.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The BPD RAP is a two-year programme comprised of three 8-month rotational assignments in different functions of the BPD department.
The rotational assignments are carefully tailored to enable growth and development of the program participants and provide them with both technical skills as well as a broad drug development understanding.
Participants will work on challenging technical projects supporting the development of protein therapeutics in the areas of Cell Culture and Fermentation, Purification, Analytics and Protein Characterization, Formulation, Delivery Devices, Clinical Logistics and Manufacturing.
Essential for the role:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, mathematics or related field gained in 2023 or later (no work experience required)
Strong academic performance
Passion for science and a strong interest in drug development as a career
Desired for the role:
Up to 2 years of work experience, including internships and co-ops
Previous internships/co-ops in industry or academic research experience
Proven leadership skills (e.g., student clubs, organisations, work experience)
High academic achievement (2.1 or above)
