Job description
We are looking for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to act in a scientific role in the analysis of blood, body fluids, tissues and cells using specialised laboratory equipment to determine the presence or absence of disease, enabling diagnosis and also to monitor the effectiveness of treatment.
After receiving full training the post holder would required to carry out unsupervised, routine and more complex investigations and analyses, which enable population screening for inherited or malignant disorders. They would usecomplex instrumentation alongside more traditional manual methods of investigation.
The post holder would be responsible for delegated tasks, involved in the day-to-day organisation and delivery of a clinical pathology service that enables high standards of patient care. They would assist in the teaching and development of trainee staff and support workers. They would be expected to maintain an up to date knowledge of developments in Biochemistry as part of their continuing professional development (CPD).
The post holder would be expected to be an autonomous practitioner as part of a wider team to provide a 24-hour pathology service Across both Poole and Bournemouth sites for the Trust on a compulsory basis.
Rota: You will be required to be involved in the out of hours rota
Base Location: Poole Hospital but you will be expected to work across site.
