Due to another successful round of funding, SoCode Scientific have partnered with a global leader in cancer detection technology to find a Lead Biomedical Scientist to work across all aspects of providing a histopathology service including specialist analytical testing on a range of biological samples. As a Biomedical Scientist you will work at their state-of-the-art Cambridge based laboratory and will be responsible for processing patient samples in good time and will ensure that service standards for reporting results are achieved
The company work mainly with hospitals in the UK as well as other hospitals across the globe. They have won numerous medical awards for pioneering a new AI focused approach to cancer detection, and coming in as the sole Biomedical Scientist, there could not be a better time to join the company as they make their mark in history.
Some of your responsibilities will include undertaking the technical work required for the clinical and research service, including all aspects of routine histopathology as well as responsibility for one or more processes or projects within the laboratory environment. You will be involved in the clinical specimen preparation and dissection. As a Lead Scientist they don’t need you to have years and year’s experience, but this is certainly an opportunity to join a growing company where you can lead a team, mentor junior scientists and choose where you take your career as the company grows.
The requirements for this role are specific due to the nature of the work, so the following is essential:
- Biomedical experience within histopathology
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Knowledge of quality and regulatory standards (ISO 15189)
