Job description

Obtains samples for testing and prepares specimens for diagnostic testing. Provides specialist diagnostic technical services in support of patient care. Records personally generated clinical information and hand writes labels on blood samples. Responsible for safe use of expensive, highly complex equipment.

Involvement in stock control. On occasions, responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a group of staff including training and providing specialist technical advice. Undertakes maintenance of complex equipment. Involved in technical aspects of audit and R&D.
