Job description
The London studio is seeking an experienced BIM Manager to join our Education team. You will be a key member of several project teams, assisting in the development and implementation of BIM strategies, and maintaining good model health, ensuring excellent coordination, and supporting team members adopt and maintain best BIM practices.
Embracing an interdisciplinary design ethos, you will collaborate with clients, Revit specialists, design professionals, and project participants at all levels to implement fully integrated BIM coordination, documentation and quality management.
About you
As a BIM specialist, you will have excellent communication and collaborative skills appropriate to the delivery of high profile, complex projects. You should have at least 4 years’ experience working as a BIM Manager using Autodesk software (Revit & Navisworks), with clear understanding of BIM processes and how they are applied in the coordination of medium to large-scale construction projects.
You will need to be an advanced user of Revit and Navisworks, have a detailed understanding of commercial construction techniques and integrated design processes. You will possess a strong knowledge of ISO19650 and how it is applied through the design process.
You will be enthusiastic about the potential of BIM, have the ability to train less experienced software users, and be able to champion its benefits within project teams. You will be diplomatic and pragmatic, able to deliver sound advice and instruction to the project team and liaise with the design team while maintaining strong client focus.
Ability to script in Dynamo is not essential but highly desirable.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and implement BIM Execution Plans, strategies, protocols, and processes at a project level.
- Input into BIM strategies and policies, studio and practice wide.
- Setup of complex project models, including team briefings and inductions.
- Manage the Common Data Environment and facilitate model sharing between parties.
- Undertake complex content creation, in collaboration with other designers.
- Support project teams with advice, troubleshooting, mentoring, and training.
- Carry out clash detection and more general model health checks.
- Identify and help resolve issues that impact scope, programme, quality or other commercial matters.
- Stay up to date with best BIM practice and implement these within your teams.
Experience & Skills:
- At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Project experience at RIBA Stages 3-5
- Excellent Revit and Navisworks skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant BIM protocols and standards.
- Dynamo is not essential but highly desirable.
- Experience of delivering COBie
