Job Purpose
The Sales Ledger & Billing Manager position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of invoices, maintenance of the debtor’s ledger, and reporting the team’s activity to the rest of the business. The position is responsible for line management Billing Co-ordinator and Sales Ledger Supervisor, who handle specific tasks within the billing / finance function.
Key Responsibilities
As a minimum you may be called upon to undertake all or some of these activities as required
· Management of the Sales Ledger and Billing team and responsible for delegation, prioritisation, and supervision of tasks and projects.
· Responsible for carrying out month end bill runs, including importing and reconciling supplier CDRs, leading the team on preparation and delivery.
· In charge of the training and development of junior staff members and the wider business on billing matters, including system administrator for aBILLity (billing platform).
· Oversight of all sales ledger transactions and responsibility for ensuring all cash is collected in a timely manner, with a focus on minimising aged-debt.
· Provision of monthly reporting on revenue and billing and other ad-hoc reports/projects as required.
· Communication and collaboration with the business to ensure seamless fulfilment of the order-to-cash cycle.
· Liaison with the senior management team to develop and troubleshoot processes to ensure the accuracy of billing and reporting.
· Providing a point of escalation and facilitate discussions with customers to find a resolution in disputes. The resolution would be in the interests of the company whilst remaining empathetic with the customer.
· Maintenance of good relationships with Key Clients.
Knowledge / Skills / Background / Qualifications
· Experience of NetSuite, aBILLity - desirable.
· You must have experience of Telecoms billing, including loading and reconciliation of supplier CDRs
· You will have experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
· You will be commercially astute, possess excellent communication skills and have strong attention to detail.
· You will be able to handle pressure and manage your time effectively.
· Proven work experience as a Sales Ledger /Billing Manager or similar role.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Good understanding of collection practices and laws.
· Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
· Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.
· Relevant training and/or certifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
