You will work within a multi-disciplinary team from across all parts of the business to deliver tender responses for clients within the Highways and Public Sector.
With an eye for detail, an exceptional passion for clear and concise professional writing, some knowledge of bid processes, the Bid Writer is responsible for:
- Compile, edit, and proof read bid proposals which contain technical content, non-technical content and diagrams/infographics ensuring that these are presented in a professional and concise manner.
- Review and revise documents prepared by others and coordinate the preparation of those materials in a completed bid document
- Work within the timeline of the bid, supporting other writers and members of the team in the production of the quality responses.
- Develop knowledge of business, its products, and services by reading and reviewing previous bid documents (including knowledge library content) and spending time with operational, technical and commercial functions
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- You will have experience of writing technical Bids/Quality Submissions, preferably in the highways sector, or public sector, or for local or central government contracts.
- Proven writing ability. Excellent communicator, articulate with outstanding written English. Must have excellent communication skills, especially written English grammar, spelling & vocabulary.
- Highly focussed on detail – producing high quality submissions on time
- Strong MS Word skills. Knowledge and experience of other systems such as SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ideally you will hold an English Degree or be able to demonstrate experience of being able to interpret technical and contractual information into easy-to-read and impactful proposals. A higher-level qualification in Copywriting or Journalism may also be considered.
