BI Developer/Data Engineer – Farnborough - Onsite

The Data Engineer/BI Developer is responsible for two main areas
1) Managing the data migration of new customers from a variety of data sources and systems into the Insight Legal Data structure.
Ensuring customer data is accurately and safely migrated and installed into the software is of critical importance. This role will be responsible for ensuring that each migration runs smoothly and effectively. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to define best practices and tools to enhance quality and efficiency, implementing new ideas and processes to optimise the data’s performance.
2) With a deep understanding of the Insight Data Structure this role will take responsibility for enhancing Insights BI and reporting capabilities.
You will have a wide and varied role, but your main responsibilities will include;
- Managing the technical process of bringing new clients on, ensuring new customer data migrations run smoothly and produce accurate results
- Research and implement tools and best practices to enhance the data migration process
- Implement and manage automated data migration auditing and quality checks
- Consistently drive for greater automation and repeatable processes in data cleansing and migration
- Develop BI data models from the Insight Data Structure to allow for efficient and scalable Analytics and Reporting
- Work as part of a small, established team, sharing knowledge and improving the service we offer to clients
- Filter through and organise large data sets from a wide range of sources, working to tight deadlines to ensure we meet our client's expectations.
- Work with client’s requirements which sometimes change, adapting to new information and requests and working

- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to communicate with varying levels of stakeholders, communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders and presenting ideas and raising issues as they arise.
- Able to work full-time onsite from our Farnborough office
Technical Skills & Experience
- Recent experience working in a BI Developer/Data Engineering role
- Extensive SQL experience
- Experience working with large data sets
- Experience with data cleansing
- Broad range of experience and understanding of how to interpret and work with differing data sources, (Access, CSV, MySQL, Text files)
- Experience developing analytics/reporting
- Exposure to or experience in BI tools, preferably PowerBI
- Experience with automating processes – learning from each and every time a process is carried out to look for ways to improve it for the next time, committing to continuous improvement
Desirable experience
- Experience with financial or accounting data highly advantageous
- Client Facing Experience highly advantageous
