BI Developer – to £60k plus benefits

The role is hybrid working, 3 days on-site in Kendal and two days per week from home. To be successful you must live or be willing to relocate to within 60 mins travel of Kendal.
At present, my client is not looking to sponsor visas or look at candidates with less than four years remaining on a visa.
What will you be doing?
My client is looking for a forward-thinking, hands-on business intelligence professional to design, develop and maintain their BI and various reporting systems to help their business unleash the power of data for informed decision-making This is a key role that will help them stay competitive, and achieve their strategic plans.
The BI Engineer will partner with internal customers to deliver excellent data solutions. They will be passionate about data and the value data brings. They will understand business, systems & processes to aid our people in performing their roles through great data insights for maximum visibility & confidence.
- BI & database administration, design, and optimization.
- Data mart \ warehouse & dashboard creation.
- Lead & manage Business Intelligence solutions.
- Evolve our data programme & lead continuous Improvement.
- Develop Best Practice Policies and Procedures
- Training and Communication
What skills and experience do you need to be successful in the role?
The role requires a blend of technical BI and Data skills together with advanced “soft skills” in project management and the management of both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Your technical skillset should include the following. You should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience delivering BI solutions in a commercial environment.
- Strong development skills (SQL, Python, PowerShell).
- SQL Server skills, including SQL objects development, performance tuning, data analysis and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Data modelling, analysis, reporting & presentation.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Data visualisation & BI development experience (preferably Power BI).
- Proven experience in analysing, cleansing, and transforming source data from multiple sources to bring enhanced end-to-end process visibility.
- Demonstrable evidence of advanced Excel knowledge, including data handling and manipulation techniques such as lookups and pivots. VBA is an advantage.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into effective solutions to enable business processes & operations.
- Knowledge of Data Hygiene, Data Management and Data Processing best practices and regulations
