Job description
Bewick Bridge Community Primary School are looking to hire a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to work towards achieving a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification as well as support the primary and the children's education.
Duties;
- Supporting pupils learning, either in groups or through 1:1 work
- Supporting pupils self esteem, inclusion and behavioural development
- Provide learning support to children with significant care needs
- Encourage and promote inclusion in the classroom, ensuring all pupils feel involved with tasks and activities
- Undertake support activities for the teacher as required, e.g. photocopying, preparation of materials, mounting displays
- Supporting the curriculum
- Assist in maintaining class records and contribute to reports on pupil progress and development as directed
- Supporting the school
- Assist in facilitating school events, e.g. school plays, events
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and parents or carers
Desired skills;
- Sensitivity and understanding for building good relationships with children
- Excellent verbal communication skills for motivating children to learn
- Active listening skills to understand the childrens' needs
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- English and Maths Grade C+/4 and/or Functional skills Level 2
