Summary
We are looking to employ an experienced Primary Teacher to work full time as part of the Behaviour Support Service. The service is based within the Targeted Service.
About the role
You will be the named Behaviour Support Teacher for a number of maintained primary schools and academies in Wiltshire, offering advice and practical support to schools to enable them to manage pupils with a wide range of behaviour and emotional needs.
As Behaviour Support Teacher, you will also co-ordinate the work of a small number of behaviour support assistants within the service and write plans and reports for individual schools.
You will devise and deliver training for school staff. It is essential to this role is an understanding of needs that may have a direct impact on behaviour, and the range of associated strategies that can be used to provide support.
About you
You should be an experienced primary school teacher, able to build and maintain positive working relationships with school and council colleagues at all levels, as well as with other stakeholders.
The ability to produce high quality reports and excellent IT skills is essential. A knowledge of the current primary curriculum and key statutory and advisory documents relating to behaviour, SEND, safeguarding and exclusion is essential.
You will benefit from working in a well-established and supportive team of teachers and support assistants. You will need to be self-motivated and able to plan your time effectively. Experience of delivering training is essential.
