We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in North West England, producing canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, UK and export markets. Significant investment is underway at both of these locations.
This role is site based at Diageo’s east Belfast packaging facility is a 12-acre site running a 24/7 operation and is supplied with beer from St James Gate brought to the site in bulk tankers, which each hold up to 30,000 litres of beer. It has been operating for over 30 years, formerly as Irish Bonding and employs 150 direct staff. The site produces over 20 brands, including Guinness Draught, Extra Stout and Foreign Extra Stout, Harp, Hop House 13, Smithwick’s and Rockshore.
About this role
This is a really exciting time for Belfast Packaging. In April 2022 we announced a £24.5million investment in our site, with the installation of a new canning line, which is nearing completion.
We are in the process of delivering a significant increase in capacity, and as a Team Leader at our site in Belfast, you’ll play a meaningful role by leading and motivating the Beer shift team to deliver World Class performance and reach critical metric goals, while ensuring that all health, safety and environment, quality, cost, and reliability standards are consistently met.
This is an outstanding opportunity to implement significant positive change within Diageo Manufacturing Excellence culture and continuously work towards the next level of performance. This is a shift-based role and you’ll be responsible for the management at high level of the day-to-day complexities of the operational environment, with the aim of delivering high quality products in a safe manner.
You will be a role model to your team by being improvement oriented and will work towards establishing your team’s capabilities and morale.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has a problem solving and proactive approach. You’ll have the dedication to make a positive difference and will be able to maintain great collaborations.
To be successful in this role you will have people management experience, and you will be comfortable working in a challenging quality and customer focused environment.
It would be great if you had a FMCG background and a IOSH qualification.
