EXPERIMENTAL COCKTAIL CLUB
Full Time London, England 12 - 16 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

ABOUT US

The Experimental Group was founded in 2007 by three childhood friends, Olivier Bon, Pierre-Charles Cros and Romée de Goriainoff. Xavier Padovani later joined them and shared their vision: to offer the ultimate hospitality experience to an ever-demanding clientele. Celebrated for bringing the cocktail bar culture to Paris, the Experimental Group operates Experimental Cocktail Club bars in Paris, London, Venice and Verbier; wine bars, Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, in Paris, London and New York City; restaurants and beach clubs in Menorca, Verbier, Paris, Venice, Ibiza and London; and hotels in London, the Cotswolds, Paris, Ibiza, Verbier, Menorca, Venice and Biarritz.

Our philosophy of service is constituted and affirmed by three key principles: the quality of its products, the precision of service, and the warm welcome of our guests.

Experimental Cocktail Club Chinatown is the first London venue from Experimental Group (Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, Henrietta Hotel, Cowley Manor, and STEREO). Established in 2011 in the heart of Chinatown, the Experimental Cocktail Club is a two-floors speakeasy bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience, knowledge of bartending, top presentation, ambition, zero pretension - this is what we are looking for in our bartenders.

The Bartender must be impeccable in all areas of our activity - cocktails, cleanliness of his bar station, guest relation, speech and presentation.

Cocktails

  • Learn the cocktails on the menu and the list of classic cocktails provided. Understand and know about the products used.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality cocktails, respecting our basic rules: use of jiggers at all times, perfectly measured, clean bar tools, swift response time. All while adhering to our principle of aiming to provide the best drinking experience without a hint of pretension.
  • Communicate to the servers and barbacks their needs well in advance.
  • Participate in the creation of the cocktail menu.
  • Assist in training and development of barbacks and junior bartenders.
  • Act as a leader during service

Guest Relation

  • Greet and interact with guests.
  • In cooperation with the Servers, ensure that the client is seated, provided with a menu, and thoroughly taken care of from that point forward.
  • If the server is absent for whatever reason, the bartender nonetheless ensures that the client’s needs are covered.
  • Create a welcoming environment for guests, assess their needs, present the cocktails menu and make recommendations.
  • Take drinks orders.

Cleanliness, opening and closing of the bar

  • Responsible for the opening and the closing of the bar, following the procedural list, from the set-up to taking out the rubbish at the end of the evening, and everything in between.
  • The opening and closing duties are part of a collective effort from all team members, as is the cleanliness of the bar throughout the entire service.
  • Apply all food and beverage safety and quality regulations.

Communication & Reporting

  • Communicate with the Bar Manager for inventory issues, client comments, and general reporting.
  • Comply with all reasonable direction and/or requests from the Management Team.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in a similar role within a cocktail bar.
  • Have excellent spirits & classic cocktails knowledge.
  • Attention to details and customer needs.
  • Social, engaging and motivated.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.
  • Be well spoken with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge as well as abilities in other languages would be beneficial.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
