Job description

Duties

  • Operates a beverage cart.
  • Sells and serves a limited variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.
  • Serves patrons directly.
  • Receives payment and makes and returns change to patrons.
  • Sets up beverage cart for operation and obtains cash bank.
  • Stocks cart with buckets of ice, soda, beer, snacks, sandwiches, hot dogs, etc.
  • Is required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
  • Cleans and washes beverage cart and removes all trash daily.
  • Refuels beverage cart as needed.
  • Makes cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients.
  • Prepares hot dogs and brats by using the hot dog roller.
  • Performs inventory of beverage cart at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Assists the snack bar staff as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires the incumbent to able to frequently lift 40 pounds or more.
  • This position requires the incumbent to able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
  • This position requires the incumbent to provide a copy of driving record.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work an uncommon tour of duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
  • Must have experience serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed.
  • Must be able to follow cash handling procedures.
  • Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgment in sequencing tasks.
  • Must be able to follow simple oral instructions.
  • Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public.
  • Successful completion of a Tier one investigation is required.
  • Position is subject to furlough from approximately 1 November to 31 March of each year due to business slowdown caused by weather.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
