Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a Bartender to join our professional Food & Beverage Team. You will be working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle, creating truly memorable and impressive 5* experiences for our guests.
About Us
Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. The Castle has almost completed a multi-million pound refurbishment program bringing back to life the regal grandeur of its past. Located 20 minutes' drive from Bristol, it offers 27 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar and two unique meeting and conference spaces. our food style is modern British using the best locally sourced produce from our kitchen garden and around the southwest. We operate 7 days a week, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, and Sunday lunch as well as the occasional wedding and functions.

Job description
£11.10 per hour dependant on experience
This role can be offered as a Part time or a Full time permanent position - 24 - 40 hours per week worked over 3 or 5 days mainly evening shifts and week end availability
Shifts between 12.30 to 00.00
An additional share of service charge and tips every 2 months (about 2/3 k per year)
28-day holiday including bank holidays

Profile description
Greet guests, take orders and serve food and drinks
Knowledge of traditional cocktails and spirits
Answer all queries about the menu including drinks and make suggestions
Take ownership of guest's requirements and food allergies
Follow Health and Safety and Food Safety procedures
Set up the dining areas and process charges and payments
Effectively communicate with managers and all colleagues
Experience with handling guest queries and complaints
Natural passion and flair for the industry and food
A calm mature approach
Ambition to succeed at the highest levels
Dedicated team player with strong communication skills
Ability to work unsupervised using own initiative when needed
Willing to learn new things
