Ember & Greens is a local, family-owned restaurant with a brand and concept that is growing quickly. We are obsessed with delivering a delicious and artful experience in both food and beverage. We are looking for reliable, hardworking and passionate individuals to join our team and help us deliver an unforgettable dining experience. The concept has been proven, and we are now looking for leaders in every position of our company to help us scale our company.
Pay
At Ember & Greens, we realize that FOH pay can be unstable, depending on the flow of business, especially given the new challenges our industry faces from the pandemic. We closely track the wages our FOH staff to ensure we know our pay and to make sure we can share that knowledge transparently and accurately. It is our goal to make sure our pay matches staff expectations.
The following figures below are hourly averages our Servers were paid. These averages include hourly wages plus tips (including credit cards plus an estimated $1/hr cash tips).
We took the average hourly wage of all of our servers for each pay period in 2023, our servers made, on average, from $16.69/hr on the low end to $25.82/hr per on the high end. This includes Server base rate is $2.13/hr.
These figures are a sample based on previous pay periods this year. As the restaurant business is seasonal and dependent on each server, these figures are likely to shift season by season and person to person. These figures are not guarantees of wages.
Roles & Responsibilities
Your role as a Server at Ember & Greens will include many standard responsibilities you would have at most restaurants. However, we place a huge emphasis on our values, mission and vision. In short, we are looking for those who demonstrate servant leadership, putting others before themselves because it works better for everyone. We can deliver a better experience not just for our guests, but for each other as. well. And for us, creating an environment where all of our team can feel supported by each other matters.
General Responsibilities
- Prioritize teamwork and conduct oneself with grace under pressure
- Treat everyone around oneself with kindness and respect
- Act as an ambassador for the brand with every guest
- Impeccably maintain the dining room and server sections
- Run all hot food and pre-bus
- Be timely and present with an attitude of gratitude and positivity
- Consistently deliver excellent service
- Always complete "side work"
- Develop professional relationships with teammates and management
- Communicate openly with management about the good and the bad so that management can be supportive of all staff and guests and take action to improve the company
An outstanding candidate will:
- Take initiative and ownership in the success of the business
- Develop relationships with clients, remembering names and details of our regular clients (use of notes or a system is encouraged)
- Support the delivery of a high-quality craft cocktail menu while providing extremely personal and personable service
- Have extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform guests
- Have excellent time management skills and the ability lead by example
