Job description
The Bar and Floor Staff will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our newly refurbished bar and restaurant. They are responsible for serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organisation, and creating a positive and enjoyable experience for customers. The Bar and Floor Staff must possess excellent communication skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring attention to detail and special requests.
- Provide recommendations on menu items and answer customer enquiries.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, ensuring high-quality presentation and adherence to service standards.
- Anticipate customer needs and proactively address any concerns or issues that may arise.
2. Bar Operations (for Bar Staff):
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following recipes and ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and organised bar area, including stocking supplies, cleaning glasses, and ensuring proper functioning of equipment.
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age and refuse service to intoxicated or underage customers.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines and promote a safe and enjoyable drinking environment.
3. Floor Operations:
- Set up tables and seating areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper arrangement.
- Take orders from customers and relay them accurately to the kitchen or bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages to customers, ensuring proper table service etiquette.
- Clear tables and clean up after customers, maintaining a clean and organised dining area.
- Assist in restocking supplies and maintaining stock levels.
4. Cash Handling and POS Operations:
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, following established cash handling procedures.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process orders, payments, and generate receipts.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, including voids, discounts, and gratuities.
5. Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate with other staff members, including kitchen staff, bartenders, and management, to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
- Assist and support other team members as needed, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 18 - 50 per week
Salary: £7.37-£11.00 per hour
