About the Role
The Barrell Park Operator is responsible for driving all noted vehicles within the Barrel Park, Bobcat (Telehandler), Manitou & Tractor/Trailer in the process of moving, stowing, loading and unloading of empty casks.
Using the Manitou, you will run in casks from the Barrel Park to the onsite Cooperage & Filling Store to align with Production Plans, ensuring they have sufficient casks to achieve their plan. There will be a requirement to remove broken or damaged casks from both areas to ensure congestion in these high traffic areas are kept to a minimum.
The Bobcat (Telehandler) is used to build stows (pyramids) with empty casks for storage purposes and de-stow when casks are required in line with agreed working instructions.
Using the tractor/trailer the loading and transport up to 50 casks at a time to various areas within the site is part of day-to-day activity.
As an operator, you will move casks of all sizes using cask handling and manual handling techniques (full training and support will be provided), to ensure own personal safety and the safety of others working with you.
Working Hours
Barrel Park Operators work on a 3 Shift Rotation consisting of the following hours:
Nightshift (Sunday to Thursday 10pm – 6am), Backshift (Monday – Friday 2pm – 10pm), and Dayshift (6am – 2pm).
What You’ll Bring
Due to the nature of this role, you will have a positive can-do attitude, with previous forklift experience and possess an in-date certificate to support this. You’ll have the ability to work to your own initiative and be able to carry out tasks without supervision.
Working as part of a team is essential to the successful running of our site so you will be a team-player, and possess strong communication skills alongside a willingness to learn.
