It is a family-owned, charming coffee shop located in the busy intersection of Jane and Annette in Toronto's Baby Point neighbourhood.

We are looking for experienced Part-time or full-time barista and Cafe Manager.
Our hours of Operation: Mon - Fri: 7.30am – 6pm/ Sat - Sun: 8.00am – 5pm
A Barista or Manager at “Gigli Caffè” is a “STAR” creating a welcome and fun vibe and impeccable service. As uniform, you will wear a wooden bowtie provided by us that you will absolutely love it!
A Barista will serve specialty hot and cold beverages and food like sandwich, pastries, salad or gelato. A Barista is knowledgeable about all the menu items, provides high-quality, fast-paced service and is able to work at multiple QSR counters performing various functions.
Responsibilities:
· Our Coffee Shop is located at 399 Jane Street and are looking for co-operative team players, who are dynamic and can adjust to workflow as it happens.
· Be on time!
· Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume
· Provides guests with exceptional service and product details, such as coffee blend or preparation description
· be able to serve Coffee, Pastries, Sandwiches, Salad, Gelato etc. Be able to multitask, take orders/deliver food to tables (if needed) and able to prioritize.
· we'd like the successful candidate to be formal yet personable, carry on a conversation, as we have almost 90% returning customers on a daily basis, so you will get to know people on a name basis.
· Sets up stations and replenishes displays neatly including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.)
· Ensures all items are dated and following First in First Out (FIFO) standards
· Operates the Point of Sales (POS) system ensuring accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills
· Cleans and sanitizes work areas in accordance with supervising health agency of the area and maintain store stock, including retail items, cups, pastry and coffee ingredients, etc.
· Care for facility and company assets and machines maintenance
· Neat and clean appearance
· Reporting any issue to the manager in a timely manner
· Performs other duties as required or assigned
· Having a Food Handlers Certificate is a plus but not required
· Cell phones may only use during your breaks
Qualifications
- 1+ year barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferred
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea, drink preparation and food products
- Outstanding communication and guest service skills
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for all production
- High school diploma preferred
Job Requirements
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including early mornings, afternoon and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer and Point of Sale
- Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso creation
- Fluent in English
