Are you passionate about coffee? Like working in a fun environment? Love interacting with customers? So maybe this might be the job for you. We are looking for a Barista passionate about craft coffee, able to follow recipes, ensuring high quality food and drinks is handed to customers. Guarantees the coffee shop is ready with all the prep needed for service. This position requires coffee experience and basic salad, sandwich and soup experience as well.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner in accordance with Bell’s Lane Kitchen standards.
· Accurately prepare coffee drinks, smoothies, salads and sandwiches to order.
· Provide the best customer service experience and helps customers as needed.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform when working.
· Prepares food and drinks with high standards and in accordance with recipes.
· Makes sure all food is stored appropriate. Prepares all ingredients and set-up the station for service in a timely manner.
· Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Bell’s Lane Kitchen standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs.
· Always comply with Bell’s Lane Kitchen standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient restaurant operations.
· Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs, temperature logs, waste reports as needed in accordance with Bell’s Lane Kitchen standards.
· Keep a clean and tidy station area as needed. Works clean and efficiently.
· Remove all garbage and recycling to proper waste disposable area as needed.
· Assist teammates when needed.
· Attend all training sessions and meetings.
· Understanding of food safe practices.
· Be a TEAM PLAYER.
· Maintain work ethics and be accountable.
· Other duties as required.
OTHER ABILITIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
· Knowledge of WHIMIS
· Food handling certificate is a plus
· SmartServe or similar certificate is a plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma.
· Barista experience is required. Basic kitchen experience is a plus.
· Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Works well under pressure.
· Well organized, shows sense of urgency: able to track multiple orders and multi-task.
· Be able to work at the serving counter dealing with customers directly.
· Able to handle payments and knowledge about POS systems.
· Ability to communicate in English.
· Aside from day shifts, must be available to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Long hours sometimes required.
· Flexible hours are always required.
· Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
· Able to remove garbage and recycling from main kitchen to waste disposable area
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 1 per week
Salary: $14.50-$17.00 per hour
